# A young company, and what that means for you

*By Samuel Krauss, Founder. Published 12 October 2026.*

> Elchi Studios has done client projects since December 2024. Why being young and small is a reason to work with us, and how we make sure someone always answers.

Elchi Studios has done client projects since December 2024. Samuel Krauss founded the company and runs it as managing director; a development team builds and operates what we sell. By most measures that makes us young and small. Clients ask about it, rightly, so here is what it means in practice.

## The people who build are the people you talk to

There is no sales department and no account manager between you and the work. Whoever plans your project also writes code for it and answers your questions. A question about a form, a deadline or a price gets an answer from someone who knows the answer, usually the same day.

## Decisions take hours, not weeks

A change of plan does not wait for a meeting cycle. If a prototype shows that a different structure works better, we change it and show you the next version. That speed is the main thing a small company can offer that a large one cannot.

## What would take people elsewhere is done by software here

A small team can only promise what it can keep, so we automate what larger companies staff:

- After every deploy we run a crawl of every public page that checks links, addresses and structured data before we call it done.
- Every database write is kept on three servers in different places.
- Four independent monitors watch the services, and [status.elchi.dev](https://status.elchi.dev) publishes what they measure.
- Our journal, our legal texts and our status page are written so that a change is visible to anyone, with its date.

## Someone always answers

The obvious question to a small company is what happens if one person is unavailable. More than one person knows every system, every installation is described as code and kept in version control, and if Samuel Krauss is not reachable, someone else from the team answers. Your data can be exported at any time without asking us, so you are never dependent on our availability to get what is yours.

## What we do not claim

We do not have years of history behind us, and we do not pretend to. What we have is a short, honest record: one known outage of about seventeen minutes on 8 June 2026, which we [wrote up](https://elchi.dev/en/journal/seventeen-minutes-on-8-june-2026), and measured availability since our cluster went live. We would rather show you that than a bigger number we cannot back.
