Infrastructure

# The sky above our servers.

Everything we offer runs on a cluster of eight servers of our own, since 3 October 2026. Over every city with a server, a bright star stood almost exactly at the zenith at midnight that night. Joined like the servers are joined, they make the mark of Elchi Studios.

Midnight, 3 October 2026, Swiss time. Five stars in Andromeda, Paris in Lacerta, each 0.2 to 1.0 degrees from the zenith of its city. Point at a star to see its servers. Stereographic projection, east to the left. Stars to magnitude 6.5 from the Bright Star Catalogue (Hoffleit and Warren, CDS V/50).

- **Entrance**Where the encryption from the browser ends. When one fails, the other takes over.

- **Database**Every change lands on all three. When the first fails, another takes over.

## How the cluster works

### No third-party proxy in front

A request is encrypted from the browser to our own entrance, and from there onward over our own encrypted network between every server. No third party sits in between and reads along.

### Two of everything

Two entrances at two providers, two application servers in two countries, three databases in three data centres. No provider holds both halves of a pair.

### Measured and published

status.elchi.dev shows what is running and every incident at its real length. The measured availability appears once a full month has been measured; the cluster has run since 3 October 2026.

### Names and certificates

The DNS zones are held by Cloudflare, and ClouDNS answers lookups with the healthy entrances. Both see only names, no content and no accounts.
